The most difficult processes are ongoing in the working group created on the issues related to the court - the demands of the opposition are rarely taken into account, Deputy Speaker of the Parliament Levan Ioseliani stated.

According to him, the opposition participating in the working group demands a change in the composition of the Council of Justice, while the majority does not have the political will to do it.

"The working group continues to work on the matter related to the court, but this group is the one where the processes are ongoing in the most difficult way and demands of the opposition are rarely taken into account. The main demand is a change in the composition of the Supreme Council of Justice, which the ruling party says requires constitutional amendments, for which we proposed the creation of a group working on constitutional amendments, if they believe that such type of changes are needed, however, I think they do not intend to create such a group. If they have the political will, it's easy to make the decisions that the recommendations of the US Embassy support, however, I don't see the readiness for it," Ioseliani said.

For information, within the framework of implementation of European recommendations, a meeting of the working group on judicial reform is underway.
