Speaker of the Parliament discusses the electoral reform with the experts of the Venice Commission and the OSCE

Speaker of Parliament Shalva Papuashvili discussed the ongoing electoral reform within the framework of EU recommendations with the experts of the Venice Commission and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights.

According to the information of the press service of the Parliament, the main initiatives envisaged in the electoral reform and the process of their development were reviewed at the meeting. The Venice Commission and the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights are working on a joint legal opinion on electoral reform at the request of the Parliament of Georgia.

The preparation of the final document is planned for December 16-17 of this year.
