Paata Manjgaladze: I think that Shalva Papuashvili is saving paper, there is no other argument as to why the de-oligarchization bill should not be sent to the Venice Commission

I think that Shalva Papuashvili is saving paper, there is no other argument as to why the de-oligarchization bill should not be sent to the Venice Commission, Paata Manjgaladze, deputy of Strategy Builder, stated.

According to him, Georgian Dream does not send the project to the Venice Commission because the document does not reflect what the European Commission demands from the country.

"Despite the call of European partners, the statement of the European Commissioner, who told us to send it to the Venice Commission, Georgian Dream is trying to adopt this law as soon as possible. They don't want it to be sent to the Venice Commission and will do anything to avoid this. I think Shalva Papuashvili is saving paper, there is no other argument as to why he should not send it and why he should get attached to the Ukrainian issue, which is in a state of war. They teach in the first year that copying the law without taking into account the local characteristics gives different results in different countries," said Manjgaladze.
