Irakli Kobakhidze: This resolution of the European Parliament has no value, no matter how you wrap it up

This resolution has no value, no matter how you wrap it up, Georgian Dream Chairman Irakli Kobakhidze said, answering a question of whether Mikheil Saakashvili's footage was used to cover the resolution adopted by the European Parliament.

According to him, the release of the footage is "a response to the fake campaign that Saakashvili is dying."

As for the resolution itself, according to Kobakhidze, the fact that the initiator of the document did not support the amended version of the resolution is an anomaly and shows that the situation in the European Parliament is very difficult.

"It is a complete anomaly, it never happens like this, which shows the paradoxical situation created around this document. When the rapporteur does not agree with his own report as amended, it shows that the situation in the European Parliament is very difficult. A scandal related to corruption broke out recently, and this document is another manifestation of corruption. The resolution that the European Union approved is related to corruption problems and oligarchic influences that are clearly visible in the European Parliament. This is a serious problem, and it is important for the leadership of the European Union to look seriously at the problem that exists in this institution", said Irakli Kobakhidze.

When asked which MEPs he means when he talks about corruption, Kobakhidze said that he knows the details, but he does not elaborate on the issue.

Robin Wagener - With the law on "transparency of foreign influence", there will be no EU membership - No chance for that
Estonian Ambassador to Georgia - If we want EU membership, we should all play by the rules - The Georgian Government on the one hand says that they are moving closer to the EU, but their actions do not prove that
