Khatia Dekanoidze: The Magnitsky list should definitely include the Minister of Justice, senior officials of the penitentiary and those who are involved in Mikheil Saakashvili's treatment

According to Khatia Dekanoidze, chairwoman of the National Movement parliamentary faction, the reply letter sent to Mikheil Saakashvili by the CEO of the Heritage Foundation, William Browder, implies that all people involved in the criminal scheme should be known to the international community.

As Khatia Dekanoidze mentioned to journalists in the yard of the City Court, the Minister of Justice, senior officials of the penitentiary and other persons responsible for Saakashvili's health should be on the Magnitsky list.

"Several weeks ago, we started talking about the fact that all people who are involved in the criminal scheme related to Mikheil Saakashvili should be on such a list as Magnitsky list. After that, we cooperated significantly with our international partners. Of course, the international response and the involvement of our partners around the Mikheil Saakashvili case has increased a lot. Saving Mikheil Saakashvili is very important for them now.

William Browder's statement implies that everyone involved in the criminal scheme should be known to the international community. In my opinion, this list should definitely include the Minister of Justice, who has repeatedly said that he is the person responsible for publicizing Mikheil Saakashvili's footage. The list should also include those who are involved in the treatment of the third president, but do not take responsibility.

I consider Browder's statement very significant, because he is not only the author of the Magnitsky List, but also the founder of the entire campaign," said Khatia Dekanoidze.

According to her, she has no expectations from the court, because it is completely politicized.

"I have no expectations from this court, because it is a completely political court. Mikheil Saakashvili is a political prisoner", said Khatia Dekanoidze.

The CEO of the Heritage Foundation, William Browder, has responded to the former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili.

"Mikheil, please have your team document who is withholding medical treatment, who is responsible for the poisoning, who is responsible for the torture and I will do whatever I can to bring this to the attention of Western governments for Magnitsky sanctions," Bill Browder wrote to Mikheil Saakashvili.

The response comes after the third president of Georgia asked William Browder to help the local Georgian groups in drawing up a new Magnitsky list without waiting for a lethal outcome.
