Elections for the chairman of the United National Movement underway

Elections for the chairman of the United National Movement are underway. Elections are conducted electronically and voting begins on January 28 at 10:00 am.

There are four candidates for the chairmanship of the party: current chairman, Nika Melia; Levan Khabeishvili; Nona Mamulashvili and Giorgi Mumladze.

According to the information of the chairman of the political council of the party, Koba Nakopia, the number of people registered to participate in the elections is approximately 50,000 people.

"I encourage everyone who has registered to actively participate in the elections. I want to assure you that the election will be secret, no one will ever know whether you participated in the election or who you voted for. There is an absolute guarantee of this, the elections are completely secret and virtually no one has access to it," said Koba Nakopia at the briefing held yesterday.

During the elections, the press speaker of the election commission will inform the public about the progress of the elections at 12:00, 15:00, 18:00 and 21:00.

The internal elections of the United Natio­nal Movement will end on January 30 at 10:00 am. Koba Nakopia assumes that the results will be known to the public by 12:00 on January 30.
