The draft resolution on transferring Mikheil Saakashvili abroad for medical treatment was registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Olena Shuliak, the chairperson of the ruling party of Ukraine, Servant of the People, disseminates information about this on Telegram.

"The draft resolution 8417 of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to Georgia, the European Parliament, the European Council, the European Commission, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the parliaments of the EU member states on the immediate transfer of Mikheil Saakashvili abroad for medical treatment has been registered in the Parliament," wrote Shuliak.

This document was signed by 90 deputies of the Verkhovna Rada.

Shuliak also noted that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, of which Georgia is a member, in its resolution 2463 adopted in 2022, called for the review of the cases and release of political prisoners who oppose the Russian occupation policy, including Saakashvili.

"The former president of Georgia and current citizen of Ukraine is currently in a critical condition. Therefore, the Georgian side must provide proper medical assistance, as well as create conditions for his transfer to one of the European or American clinics for treatment," she said.
