Vano Merabishvili: 1 week has passed since the elections in the party and I am very satisfied that the rallies supporting Saakashvili were held all over Georgia - the new leadership will make sure that the situation changes in a few months

There is an organized, cynical action against Mikheil Saakashvili, because Ivanishvili believes that Saakashvili is his enemy, and most importantly, Ivanishvili knows that Saakashvili is Putin's number one enemy, the former Minister of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Vano Merabishvili, told Feygin LIVE.

According to him, "Ivanishvili is building Russia in Georgia", where any opposition, any alternative is unacceptable.

"The situation related to Mikheil Saakashvili's health is critical and is getting worse, unfortunately we have to say that the Georgian government is maintaining its stubbornness until the end, because not only we, but everyone in the world has noticed that Ivanishvili is building Russia in Georgia, where any opposition, any alternative is unacceptable. I would like to state that when our party, Mikheil Saakashvili, lost the elections, we voluntarily and democratically handed over power to Ivanishvili. However, after that, all the troubles started in Georgia, which continue even now. I was in prison for 6 years and 9 months. Ivanishvili has a very simple practice: his opponent must be either in prison or abroad. Saakashvili is the biggest threat to him, and now there is an organized, cynical action against Saakashvili, because Ivanishvili believes that Saakashvili is his enemy, and most importantly, Ivanishvili knows that Saakashvili is Putin's number one enemy. It is very sad that the Georgian government pursues Russian policy despite the fact that Georgia is the first victim of Russian aggression and Georgia has always been the leader of integration into European structures, but now it has become an outsider and the situation related to Saakashvili worsens Georgia's situation even more," said Vano Merabishvili.

He also spoke about the elections held a few days ago for the chairmanship of the United National Movement party and noted that the new leadership will be able to change the situation in Georgia and not only in Georgia in a few months.

"Several days ago, extraordinary elections for the chairmanship of the United National Movement party were held in Georgia and the leadership of the party was changed. The main complaint against the previous leadership was passivity, inactive action to protect Saakashvili, passive attitude towards rallies, etc. A week has passed since the elections, and I am very satisfied that during this week, protests in support of Saakashvili were held throughout Georgia. I am sure that the new leadership will make sure that in a few months, and you will also notice this, the situation changes in Georgia, and not only in Georgia. I know that this party is busy cooperating with our diasporas abroad. Earlier, when such rallies were held, Georgian immigrants were very passive," Vano Merabishvili said.
