The Public Defender expresses deep sorrow over the terrible tragedy that happened yesterday and offers condolences to the family, relatives and friends of the deceased girl.

"It is necessary for the relevant agencies to respond immediately to the mentioned fact, conduct an investigation in a timely and effective manner and administer justice.

The Public Defender’s Office will examine this gravest fact and, within the scope of its mandate, will monitor the actions taken by the responsible agencies, including the progress of the investigation.

The 12-year-old girl was found dead in the Didi Dighomi district of Tbilisi in the morning of March 17, 2023," Public Defender's statement reads.
