Giorgi Amilakhvari: The goal for which the opposition wants to create an investigative commission is to damage the achievements and reforms that are being implemented to fulfill the 12-point plan

The goal for which the opposition wants or wanted to create an investigative commission is to damage the achievements and reforms that are being implemented to fulfill the 12-point plan, including in the part of the judiciary, said the Minister of Education and Science, Giorgi Amilakhvari.

According to him, the Government and the Parliament of Georgia have already fulfilled almost all the points of the 12-point plan of the European Commission, including the issues related to the court.

As for the sanctioned judges, as Amilakhvari notes, he does not think that "anyone needs to be defended", but it is important for the United States of America to present evidence why it decided to sanction 4 judges.

"The Government and Parliament of Georgia have already fulfilled almost all the points of the 12-point plan, including the issues related to the court. Therefore, one of the main goals why the radical opposition wants or wanted to create this investigative commission is the opposite - to damage the achievements and reforms that are being implemented in Georgia to fulfill the 12-point plan, including in the judiciary.

As for the sanctioned judges, I don't think anyone needs to be defended. The main issue here is that it would have been good if the public had seen the grounds for the allegations that one of the countries has made. This is a public question asked by us and our society," said Amilakhvari.
