The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili, will attend the meeting of the European Union Foreign Affairs Council (FAC) on April 24.
The head of the foreign ministry will attend the meeting together with the high-ranking representatives of the European Union and the ministers of foreign affairs of the member states.
"Within the framework of the meeting, the main topic of discussion of the parties will be the expansion of the European Union and the prospect of Georgia's accession; In addition, the priority directions of Georgia-EU relations and prospects for deepening cooperation will be discussed, as well as the progress achieved by Georgia in terms of fulfilling the 12 priorities of the European Commission.
As part of the visit to Luxembourg, a bilateral meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs with his counterpart is also planned," it is noted in the information released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"As the Minister of Foreign Affairs, I am invited to Luxembourg on Monday. I will have the opportunity to [participate] in the format of the Foreign Affair Council, where Vice-President Borrell, who heads this Council, and also the 27 foreign ministers of the EU member states are represented. This is truly a unique opportunity to share with our European partners the concrete results that Georgia has taken in the direction of fulfilling the 12 points, the concrete plans that we have to finally complete the work on these recommendations. This is what I will talk about on Monday with the foreign ministers who will be in Luxembourg," said Darchiashvili.
