Minister of Defense of Georgia Juansher Burchuladze is on an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan.
According to the Ministry of Defense, Juansher Burchuladze was hosted by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
According to the agency, the issues of bilateral cooperation in the field of security and defense of the region were discussed at the meeting.
"The importance of strategic partnership and good neighborly relations between the two countries was emphasized, as well as the growing dynamics of cooperation, which serves to strengthen ties between the countries. The parties also talked about the current and planned measures of cooperation in the field of defense in bilateral and trilateral format.
Within the framework of the official visit, the Minister of Defense met with his Azerbaijani colleague, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov. The parties have signed an updated agreement between the governments of Georgia and Azerbaijan on cooperation in the field of defense," it is noted in the information.
