Shalva Papuashvili: The President is inciting problems for the functioning of the institutions - the expectation of the Georgian people is that President will be constructive, it is a pity that we do not see this constructiveness

It is the obligation and responsibility of all constitutional bodies to promote and not hinder the functioning of state institutions, - said the Chairman of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.

As he mentioned, we saw with the example of the Central Election Commission and the National Bank that the President does not facilitate the proper functioning of these bodies.

According to him, the President is inciting problems for the functioning of the institutions.

"Unfortunately, we saw this on the example of the Central Election Commission and the National Bank, that the President does not support the proper functioning of these bodies, and on the contrary, by not presenting the candidates, she incites problems for the functioning of the institutions.

We heard explanations from the Administration of the President, and to tell the truth, I am surprised by this explanation. It was said that Lasha Khutsishvili is a professional and, from this point of view, there was no question. However, there are questions regarding his independence. I think that the Administration of the President does not understand one thing, that it is impossible to separate professionalism and independence from each other. Independence is a component of professionalism”, he said.

According to him, the expectation of the Georgian people towards everyone, including the President, is to be constructive.

“It is a pity that we do not see this constructiveness”, said Shlava Papuashvili.
