Salome Zurabishvili: Suddenly we start a policy of incomprehensible concessions - I understand patience, I understand non-confrontation, I understand caution, but I don't understand concessions - there was no reason to restore flights

Suddenly we start a policy of incomprehensible concessions, I wouldn't call it strategic patience. I understand patience, I understand non-confrontation, I understand caution, but I don't understand concession. There was no reason to restore flights, - President Salome Zurabishvili said at the meeting with the media.

According to her, Moldova has not entered into a confrontation with Russia, however, their position that they are on the side of Ukraine is clear.

"No one can believe that Putin's Russia is so interested in the well-being of Georgians in Russia or here that it considered it necessary to restore flights - it is only “interested" at this moment, when it is losing to Ukraine, to Prigozhin or others, this is incredible. We all see that this is Russia's move to gain some kind of influence on society, to please someone, to start an internal conflict about it. Russia's moves are so well known that you don't need to be able to play chess to understand what's happening, why it's happening, and what Russia is doing to you. I need the government to see better than the public what Russia is doing to us and to build a wall in front of it. You mentioned Moldova and it is in a worse situation than us, I would say probably in a more difficult situation. I was there last winter and I admired two women - the President and the Prime Minister - who endured that situation and came out of it stronger. There has not been confrontation with Russia, but there is a clear position that they are on the side of Ukraine. We may not implement new sanctions, and no one asks it from us, this is just an attempt to mislead our society! No one asks additional sanctions from us, nobody asks us not to sell wine, we are just asked not to become a country that circumvents sanctions," said Salome Zurabishvili.
