Mourning day in Georgia - state flags flying at half-mast on administrative buildings

According to the decision of the Prime Minister of Georgia, August 7 was announced as a day of mourning in honor of the memory of those who died as a result of the natural disaster that occurred in the Shovi in Oni municipality on August 3.

In connection with the day of mourning, state flags are flying at half-mast on the Government Administration building and on the entire territory of Georgia.

According to the Government Administration, in addition, from midnight August 8 to midnight August 9, national flags will be flown half-staff to pay homage to the memory of the victims of the large-scale military intervention carried out in Georgia by the Russian Federation to illegally occupy Georgia’s Regions of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali.

State flags are also flying at half-mast on all administrative buildings of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In connection with the day of mourning, the state flag was also lowered over the building of the Parliament of Georgia.
