According to the Organic Law of Georgia "On Georgian Citizenship", a citizen of Georgia will lose his Georgian citizenship if s/he acquires the citizenship of another country, unless s/he has retained his/her Georgian citizenship upon acquiring the citizenship of another country. A Georgian citizen will retain his/her Georgian citizenship if s/he receives the consent of the Georgian state to maintain his/her Georgian citizenship before acquiring the citizenship of another country.
