Giga Bokeria, chairman of European Georgia, calls President Salome Zurabishvili's decision not to deprive the US-sanctioned former chief prosecutor Otar Partskhaladze's of Georgian citizenship completely absurd.
"It is a complete absurdity and a lie, as if, by taking away the citizenship, Georgia is somehow restricted from prosecuting Otar Partskhaladze or any other person who spied against our country or committed a serious crime.
I have no idea where they got this nonsense from. This is just stupid. If there is any intrigue plan, which I do not understand, in general, getting involved in the theater of the absurd together with the Ivanishvili regime, in violation of the law, is another harm from Salome Zurabishvili", Giga Bokeria stated.
For information, the President of Georgia does not consider it expedient to terminate the citizenship of Otar Partskhaladze, the former Prosecutor General of Georgia, sanctioned by the USA.
According to the statement released by the Administration of the President of Georgia, Otar Partskhaladze has been exposed for espionage and an investigation has been initiated against him, therefore, the President believes that if Otar Partskhaladze is to be punished, he should be punished as a citizen of Georgia.
