Irakli Kobakhidze: The President blatantly and deliberately violated the Constitution of Georgia, she fundamentally opposed the existing system of governance

The President blatantly and deliberately violated the Constitution of Georgia. It has been said many times that the Constitution was violated only formally and it was not a big deal. This is a wrong attitude. There is a non-European attitude towards the Constitution, Irakli Kobakhidze, the Chairman of Georgian Dream, stated at the Constitutional Court session, where the impeachment submission of Salome Zurabishvili is being considered.

As Kobakhidze explained, the President of Georgia fundamentally opposed the existing system of governance.

"We believe that the President grossly and intentionally violated the Constitution of Georgia. It has been said many times that the Constitution was violated only formally and it was not a big deal. First of all, this is already a wrong attitude. It is a non-European attitude towards the Constitution. Formal violation of the Constitution is a wrong term. There may be a less serious topic related to the violation of the Constitution, but in this case, the President of Georgia fundamentally opposed the system of governance established by the Constitution of Georgia," said Kobakhidze.

Michał Kobosko - we hope that your government eventually would either choose the European way, the democratic way or would resign seeing the number, the size and scale of the citizens' protests
