Irakli Kobakhidze: The President has already announced that she supports the revolution. Anyone else protesting against the law on 'assemblies and demonstrations' is essentially admitting that they desire a revolution - we aim for peace

Those who have protested or will protest against this draft law, aimed at regulating gatherings and demonstrations, support the scenario of a revolution, Irakli Kobakhidze said while speaking with journalists.

The chairman of the ruling political party, Georgian Dream, and the leader of the parliamentary majority, also commented on the President's veto of the law.

"Salome Zurabishvili has already stated her support for the revolution. Anyone else objecting to the law on 'assemblies and demonstrations' is directly indicating their desire for a revolution - but we aspire to peace. Georgian society and the government yearn for peace, and we will make every effort to ensure it. This draft law is related to that objective," said Kobakhidze.

The President vetoed the amendments to the Law on Assemblies and Demonstrations.

Michał Kobosko - we hope that your government eventually would either choose the European way, the democratic way or would resign seeing the number, the size and scale of the citizens' protests
