According to the Public Defender, Levan Ioseliani, at this stage, the office of the ombudsman is not involved in the release of two captured Georgian soldiers fighting in Ukraine.
According to him, he has not yet communicated with his Russian counterpart and believes that it is not necessary at this stage.
"We are not involved in this part at this stage. If there is a need to get involved, of course, we will get involved. Here we are talking about the Public Defender's communication with the Russian ombudsman, which I have not established yet, and I do not see the need for it now.
As for the state structures, we are in contact with them and have information about what is happening and how. As for the protection of rights, at this stage I have not had any communication with my Russian counterpart", said the Public Defender.
