It was during the period of the Georgian Dream government that it became possible to prove the truth once and for all - specifically in this case {the case of the murder of Giga Otkhozoria}, the state was involved as a third party and helped to obtain evidence, said Minister of Justice Rati Bregadze.

According to him, Georgia won all interstate lawsuits.

"It was during the period of government of Georgian Dream that it became possible to prove the truth once and for all. Georgia has won all the interstate lawsuits, at the same time, the proceedings of the so-called creeping occupation were renewed. Today, the court published a decision in the Otkhozoria case, according to which the violation of the right to life was established and responsibility was imposed on Russia, which exercises effective control over the occupied territories of Georgia. With this decision, the circumstance that the court talked about in the previous decisions was once again confirmed. Of course, this is a great merit of the people who work on these issues, in particular, I mean the employees of the Ministry of Justice. I would like to thank all agencies for their fruitful cooperation in finding evidence.

In this particular case, the state was involved as a third party and assisted in obtaining evidence. This decision and success is due to the previous cases, which Georgia won," the Minister of Justice said.

As for the issue of compensation, according to the Minister, it is related to legal procedures.

"In the enforcement part, of course, since the Russian Federation is no longer a member state of the Council of Europe, it is relatively complicated. Finally, to the best of our ability, we will work together with our international partners to ensure that justice is done and that every person whose rights are found to have been violated is fully restored. I am sure that we will be able to do this together," the Minister said.
