Iago Khvichia: Actually, Georgian Dream is neither pro-Chinese, nor pro-American, nor pro-Russian, nor pro-Algerian, nor pro-Georgian, they are pro-stay-in-power people

I think that the government and the opposition are using the anti-Chinese sentiment to fight with each other, - this is how one of the leaders of Girchi, MP Iago Khvichia assessed the statement of the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, according to whom, everyone who stirs up anti-Chinese sentiments is aimed at disrupting Georgia's strategic projects.

According to Iago Khvichia, the policy of Georgian Dream is pro-Russian due to its mistakes, but in reality, the government cares about no one.

"Actually, Georgian Dream is neither pro-Chinese, nor pro-American, nor pro-Russian, nor pro-Algerian, nor pro-Georgian, they are pro-stay-in-power people. Sometimes it will be pro-Chinese, sometimes pro-American, sometimes pro-Armenian, sometimes pro-Azerbaijani or pro-Brazilian. It does not matter for Georgian Dream. To accuse them of being pro-Chinese, I think, is as unfair as being pro-Russian. They are pro-Russian due to their mistake, but actually they do not care even about Russia, they do not care about China or anyone else. They are only interested in their own leader, he should not get angry, he should not at them badly, should not think badly. In my opinion, this is the attitude of Georgian Dream. I don't know what kind of relations we have with China", Khvichia said.

For information, Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili spoke about the importance of the visit of the parliamentary delegation to China and noted that all those who stir up anti-Chinese sentiments are directed to disrupt the projects of strategic importance of Georgia.

"The Silk Road started in China and ended in Europe. We are talking about this and today, they are having an absolute hysteria, including an attempt to create anti-Chinese sentiments," Papuashvili said.
