Khatia Dekanoidze: The Parliament of Georgia does not perform its main function - a supervisory function towards the Government of Georgia

The most important thing here is what role the Parliament of Georgia has played in making the country's European integration much closer and what role it plays every day, - Khatia Dekanoidze, the deputy of EuroOptimists, told reporters before the start of the delivery of a report by the Speaker of the Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili.

According to her, the Parliament of Georgia does not perform its main function - it is a supervisory function towards the Government of Georgia.

"The most important thing here is what role the Parliament of Georgia has played in making Georgia's European integration much closer and what role it plays every day. The first, of course, is that almost none of the 12 reservations has been properly performed, including those imposed by the European Union. Granting the candidate status was a geopolitical decision. The Russian law, which was passed by the Georgian Parliament in March, and it is very unfortunate that almost all members of the majority, with a few exceptions who were then expelled from the Parliament, supported that law, distanced us from the European Union. In general, even now we can see that from the point of view of the rule of law, from the point of view of the freedom of the court, from the point of view of the independent Central Election Commission, none of the important reservations has been fulfilled and the Parliament of Georgia does not fulfill its main function - it is a supervisory function towards the Government of Georgia. The Parliament of Georgia has become a part of the party and the government, which is unfortunate," said Khatia Dekanoidze.

For information, at this moment, Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili is delivering a report at the plenary session of the Parliament of Georgia.
