Nikoloz Samkharadze: This part of the Euroepan Parliament resolution relating to release of Mikheil Saakashvili’s release is not of great importance, probably we will find out from FARA how this change was made to the resolution

This part of the resolution is not of great importance, and perhaps in the future we will find out once again how the change in this resolution was made, - Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament, said while responding to the report of the European Parliament, which talks about the release of Mikheil Saakashvili.

According to Samkharadze, it is not welcome for them when certain MEPs demand that justice not be executed in Georgia.

"Regarding the resolution of the European Parliament and the last-minute change introduced by Anna Fotyga, of course, this is a continuation of the series that we have been watching for a long time, when specific MEPs, who do not follow the aspirations of the Georgian people, nor Georgian legislation, nor justice in principle, every time they stick some proposals in the resolution. This is what happened this time too and, of course, it is not welcome when certain members of the European Parliament demand that justice not be administered in Georgia, although our society already knows this well, and the European Union also knows well that it does not matter much. Therefore, this part of the resolution is not of great importance, and probably, in the future, we will find out once again from FARA how this change was initiated in the resolution", said Nikoloz Samkharadze.

According to Samkharadze, the biggest anti-Western and anti-European propaganda is precisely such recordings, because a large part of the society in this case starts developing wrong perceptions and views regarding the European Union due to the above.

"One thing we ask is that when these kinds of records are made, and they are always made by the same people, and I very much hope that these people will not be in the next European Parliament, it must be clear to our society that this is not the EU position, because the biggest anti-Western and anti-European propaganda is precisely such records, because a large part of our society starts developing wrong perceptions and views regarding the European Union in such cases", - said Samkharadze.

For information, European Parliamentarian Anna Fotyga announced that two amendments were made to the resolution of the European Parliament at her request. The MEP writes in on network X that the changes refer to the release of the former president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili, and the occupied territories of Georgia.
