Roman Gotsiridze: I think that Melia and Gvaramia will not create two parties, probably one party will be created around number 4 - I see myself in a big opposition coalition

According to Roman Gotsiridze, Chairman of EuroOptimists, the pre-election campaign of the United National Movement regarding the prices of consumer products is welcome and the opposition should act in this way.

As he mentioned on PalitraNews, it is impossible to reduce prices in the country under this government.

According to him, during 11 years, the average economic growth of Georgia was 4.4%, which means nothing in the conditions of the country's economy.

“The weakest point of Georgian Dream is the economy, and the opposition, unfortunately, rarely talks about it. What the National Movement is doing is correct, I welcome it. I used to do this every time we discussed the budget. The opposition should act in this way. They should ask why investors are not coming to Georgia. Members of the National Movement moved to Turkey, where annual inflation is 60%, prices are 2 times and 3 times lower than in Georgia. Under the economic conditions of this government, it is impossible to reduce prices in the country. What can we buy with 100 GEL today and what could we buy 3 years ago? There is no need to compare with 2012.

The demagoguery of Georgian Dream is destroyed by a single number. During the 11 years of this government's rule, the average economic growth was 4.4%, which means nothing in the conditions of our economy, and the result of this meager economic growth is being absorbed by the elite of Georgian Dream”, said Roman Gotsiridze.

In addition, as he noted, how the opposition wing will be sorted out will not be known until the processes ongoing in the National Movement are finished.

According to Roman Gotsiridze, he does not believe that Nika Melia and Nika Gvaramia will create two different parties and, in his opinion, one party will be created around election number 4.

"How the opposition wing will be sorted out, it will not be clear until the processes ongoing in the National Movement are finished. We might think that the process was finished, Nika Melia separated from the National Movement and created a separate party, but who would imagine that Nika Gvaramia would want to create a new party on the basis of the National Movement. I think that Melia and Gvaramia will not create two parties, probably one party will be created around number 4. It is too early to talk about whether a powerful united opposition center will be created or not.

As for me, I see myself in a big opposition coalition, which will try to change the government, not just to overcome the 5 percent barrier to enter the Parliament", said Roman Gotsiridze.
