European enlargement is essential for the stability and prosperity of the EU. I am glad to see the progress achieved in Georgia. The carried out reforms contribute to Georgia's progress towards Europe, said the Minister of European Affairs of the Republic of Finland, Anders Adlercreutz, after meeting with Ilia Darchiashvili in Helsinki.

According to Anders Adlercreutz, Finland will definitely support Georgia on its way to join the European Union.

"On March 12-13, Ilia Darchiashvili was on an official visit to the Republic of Finland. Within the framework of the visit, the head of the Foreign Ministry held meetings with the President of Finland, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of European Affairs of the country, representatives of the Grand Committee of the Parliament and the chairman of the faction of the ruling party of the Finnish Parliament.

At the meetings, the existing relations between Georgia and Finland were discussed both bilaterally and multilaterally, as well as current issues of the agenda of Georgia-EU relations and the progress achieved on the path of Georgia's accession to the European Union", the information released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted.
