The Ministry of Defense of Georgia confirms that from 2020 to February 9, 2024, Davit Khidasheli worked as an advisor at the Ministry of Defense.

According to the agency, after the suspension of the authority of the Minister of Defense, in accordance with the legislation, according to Article 81, Clause 2, of the Law of Georgia on Civil Service, Davit Khidasheli's administrative contract was terminated and since then he no longer works in the Defense Agency.

"Relating to the information spread in the media regarding Davit Khidasheli's work as an advisor to the Minister of Defense in the Ministry of Defense, in order to provide complete information to the public, we would like to clarify the following: from 2020 to February 9, 2024, Davit Khidasheli worked as an advisor in the Ministry of Defense. After the suspension of the authority of the then Minister of Defense, in accordance with the legislation, according to Article 81, Clause 2, of the Law of Georgia on Civil Service, Davit Khidasheli's administrative contract was terminated and since then he no longer works in the Ministry of Defense. At the same time, Davit Khidasheli did not have access to state secret information during his work at the Ministry of Defense," reads the statement of the agency.

For information, the Main Channel reported that Davit Khidasheli worked as an advisor to the Minister of Defense for many years. The mentioned information was confirmed by the former minister, Juansher Burchuladze, on the same television.
