Irakli Kobakhidze: I am ready to get involved in the discussions related to the law on transparency with anyone - diplomats, politicians, representatives of NGOs or ordinary opponents of this law

Anyone who wants to participate in the discussions related to the law on transparency - diplomats, politicians, representatives of non-governmental organizations or ordinary opponents of this law - I am personally ready to get involved in the discussions, - Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze told journalists in Germany.

As Kobakhidze mentioned, he is ready to personally convince the opponents, because the positions of the government regarding the said law are solid.

"Anyone who wants to participate in the discussions related to the law on transparency - diplomats, politicians, representatives of non-governmental organizations or ordinary opponents of this law - I am personally ready to get involved in the discussions. Personally, I am ready to sit down with anyone, because our positions are very solid. It is very easy to convince anyone that the law will only help the democratic development of our country and avoid risks in the future. I mean the risks facing society. You remember what happened at the end of 2020, when we had another attempt at revolution, and in this attempt, there were directly wild people involved, who falsified the results of parallel counting, falsified many other things. We have to avoid such negative scenarios for the society in the first place, this is our main task, and that is why it is important to pass the law on transparency, so that everyone can work transparently and honestly. Transparency is not an important but a necessary condition of integrity. Precisely because there was no transparency until now, specific organizations falsified, for example, election results or other data. If there is transparency, there will be less temptation in terms of falsification," said the Prime Minister.
