Irakli Kobakhidze: The Venice Commission has refused professional dignity – the report is full of absurd entries and lies

I read the document and as a lawyer, I can say that the Venice Commission has refused professional dignity, - Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze said while evaluating the Venice Commission report on the transparency law.

According to the head of the government, there are many absurd entries and lies in the document.

"I just felt uncomfortable as a lawyer when I read this document. The Venice Commission showed so poor face with this document. They have nothing to say and are just full of absurd notes and lies. You find a lot of lies in the document of the Venice Commission and along with these lies there is completely absurd legal reasoning without any argumentation, but the public looks at the end not at what the Venice Commission said, but at where the truth lies and this is one of the serious achievements, which we have had in these 2-3 years. That is why we often say that today our country is sovereign as never before. This means that society values the independence of our country more. That is, the price of independence is more understood by the Georgian society today than it was even 3-4 years ago," the Prime Minister said on the Public Broadcaster.
