Irakli Kobakhidze, together with Kakha Kaladze, meets with members of national football team

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, together with Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, met with members of Georgia's national football team.

The Head of Government arrived in Dusseldorf to wish success to the Georgian footballers before the kickoff of the European Championship.

The Prime Minister reiterated the national team's historic victory that brought the whole country together. He also pledged to root for them at the European Championship alongside scores of Georgian fans at the stadium.

"I wish you victory and success. I am confident that you will continue bringing considerable joy to our country," the Prime Minister addressed the footballers.

Irakli Kobakhidze also pointed out the tremendous role of the Football Federation and thanked Levan Kobiashvili, President of the Football Federation.

In discussing the Government's plans toward facilitating sports with the footballers, the Prime Minister stated that a new, 70,000-seat stadium will be built in Tbilisi, and considerable attention will be paid to the development of athletic infrastructure across the country.

The national team was also addressed with a speech by Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze, who wished them success at the championship.

The European Championship will be held on June 14-July 14 in Germany. Georgia's national team will compete against the Portuguese, Turkish, and Czech national teams in Group F. Georgia will debut at the tournament by facing off against Turkey on June 18, followed by matches with the Czech team on June 22 and Portugal on June 26.
