Giorgi Rukhadze: everyone should believe that the West is not kidding and that the policy review with regard to Georgia has started - if "Georgian Dream" retains power after the elections, the isolation will continue

Everyone should believe that the West is not kidding and that the policy review with regard to Georgia has begun, Giorgi Rukhadze, the founder of the "Strategic Analysis Center", said while commenting on the statement of the European Union Ambassador to Georgia, Paweł Herczyński, who noted that 30 million euros, which were planned to be transferred to the Ministry of Defense of Georgia , is frozen.

As Rukhadze noted, if "Georgian Dream" remains in power after the October elections, "isolation will continue".

"Paweł Herczyński's statement [30 million euros, which we planned to transfer to the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, has been frozen] is a practical result of what the Georgian authorities have done. Until now, they assured us that there will be no sanctions. This is a concrete step by the European Union, during which 30 million aid to Georgia was suspended. The ambassador said that this is just the beginning, unfortunately there will be many more. If "Georgian Dream" remains in power for a long time, this approach from the European Union and the West will continue and we will lose all the good things we have gained. Everyone should believe that the West is not kidding and that the policy towards Georgia has been revised. Since the Georgian government does not consider the USA and the EU as a partner and considers it as an adversary power, then they already treat you as befits a foreign power.

If "Georgian Dream" retains power after the October elections, the isolation will continue. In the end, it is up to the people of Georgia to decide, they should see what is happening correctly, they should understand that this is no longer a joke," said Rukhadze.

In addition, he spoke about the 75th NATO summit, which is taking place in Washington and which is attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili.

According to Rukhadze, Georgia is represented at the NATO summit at the same level as Armenia and Azerbaijan, which is an example of Georgia's departure from the alliance.

"How can we be satisfied when Georgia is represented at the same level as Armenia and Azerbaijan. We should not forget that Georgia is a NATO aspirant state. Today, unfortunately, Georgia stands next to those countries that have no ambition to join the alliance. This is a clear example of Georgia's departure from the alliance," said Rukhadze.
