Irakli Kobakhidze: the suspension of the allocation of funds in the field of defense is unfortunate and counterproductive for restarting relations - I hope that correct and fair steps will be taken in the future

According to the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, the decision of the United States of America and the European Union to suspend the allocation of funds in the field of defense is "regrettable".

As the Prime Minister noted at the government meeting, such decisions are counterproductive in terms of resetting relations.

"I want to respond to the decision of the United States of America and the European Union to suspend the allocation of funds in the field of defense. This decision is unfortunate. It's unfortunate to the extent that it doesn't live up to our expectations for relationship reboots. I would like to point out once again that in the light of the political events of the past 4 years, these relations really need to be restarted. The Georgian side, our government, the state is fully ready for this. Also, we are waiting for the next steps, of course, such decisions are counterproductive from the point of view of restarting relations, but I still hope that pragmatic, rational, correct, fair steps will be taken in the future. Such steps will contribute to reset relations between the United States of America and Georgia. We are ready for this from the beginning to the end", said Kobakhidze.
