Olympic team of Georgia takes oath

The Olympic team of Georgia is going to the Summer Olympics in Paris. Athletes took the Olympic oath today.

The event was attended and addressed by: President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili; Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze; Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili; Tbilisi Mayor, Kakha Kaladze.

In this year's Summer Olympic Games, 28 athletes from Georgia, including 7 women, will participate in individual competitions in 10 sports.

In addition, judokas will compete in the mixed team tournament of the Olympics. The Olympic team of Georgia includes many Olympic, world and European champions, as well as silver and bronze medalists.

Since the 1996 Atlantic Olympics, Georgia has won 10 gold, 12 silver and 18 bronze medals at the Olympic Games. The most successful in terms of medals was the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, when Georgia won 8 medals (2 gold, 5 silver, 1 bronze).
