The Prime Minister of Georgia will have the opportunity to discuss, together with other leaders, the challenges of the European Union and the opportunities that our country provides to the European family, together with other leaders, at the European Union Summit, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili.
According to him, about 50 leaders are participating in the summit of the European political union, and the Prime Minister will also have a good opportunity to communicate with his colleagues.
"On July 18, the working visit of the Prime Minister of Georgia to the United Kingdom begins, where the next session of the European Political Union is held. This platform was created at the initiative of President Macron and it is an additional platform, opportunity and mechanism for countries that aspire to integrate into the European Union, to discuss the challenges that the European Union has in general, as well as the opportunities that can be used for these countries. For the first time, Georgia, as a candidate country of the European Union, participates in the format of the European political union. The Prime Minister of Georgia will have the opportunity, together with other leaders, to discuss the challenges of the European Union and the opportunities that our country provides to the European family in a round table format. The roundtable will be on energy and connectivity. We always point out that Georgia has a huge potential to play a special role in ensuring Europe's energy security. Accordingly, the Prime Minister of Georgia will have specific messages regarding the capabilities of our country, its role and the benefits that Georgia can bring to the European Union. I think it is a good opportunity to present our country. The Prime Minister will also have a good opportunity to communicate with his colleagues. As it is known, about 50 leaders are participating in this platform, there will be discussions on all current topics, including Ukraine, migration issues and the expansion of the European Union", said Ilia Darchiashvili.
