Ilia Darchiashvili: At the 4th meeting of the European Political Community, the Prime Minister had the opportunity to communicate with various leaders - Georgia presented concrete initiatives

At the 4th meeting of the European Political Community, the Prime Minister had the opportunity to communicate with various leaders. I think at the opening of the summit there was a strong message and the importance of consolidation and unity of the European family was once again emphasized, - Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili told journalists in the United Kingdom.

According to him, the mentioned format is one of the mechanisms by which Georgia tries to get closer to the European family.

"Today a very important event is taking place in the United Kingdom. We remember that this platform was created at the initiative of President Macron and serves the main purpose of bringing the countries that aspire to join the European Union and are members of the European family closer together, and this is one of the mechanisms by which Georgia also tries to get closer to the European family, the European Union. We have a separate, individual, bilateral format with the European Union, which is the main line of our European integration, however, the European Political Community platform is one of the useful mechanisms for Georgia to continue its successful European integration.

Today, the Prime Minister of Georgia had the opportunity to communicate with various leaders. One of the main topics at the opening event was Ukraine and the challenges we face in terms of security. I think there was a strong message and the importance of consolidation and unity of the European family was once again emphasized", said Ilia Darchiashvili.

According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Prime Minister along with various leaders participated in the round table format, the main topic of which was energy and connectivity.

"The Prime Minister participated in the round table format along with various leaders. The issue was about energy and connectivity, and Georgia is a very important participant in this process, on the one hand, from the point of view of our geographical location, and on the other hand, from the point of view of our role, to be able to effectively connect the East and the West. The conversation touched on various large and medium energy projects. Among them, the issue touched on the project of the Black Sea power transmission cable, which will certainly serve to diversify Europe's energy supply. One of the important issues is that Georgia presented concrete initiatives on what could be included in the final document, which the participants of today's event will agree on. The issues that are interesting to us and on which we are actively working are also being worked on here, and I am sure that our initiatives and visions will be reflected in the documents accordingly. The main message is that the countries try to consolidate as much as possible and also ensure the diversification of energy resources, so that there is no dependence on any one country", said Ilia Darchiashvili.
