The trial of Mikheil Saakashvili is ongoing in the Tbilisi City Court

The trial of the accused former President Mikheil Saakashvili and the former head of the Special State Protection Service, Teimuraz Janashia, is ongoing in the Tbilisi City Court.

Former European Parliamentarian Anna Fotyga also attends the session together with politicians. She did not comment to reporters before the proceedings. She will probably answer media questions after the meeting.

Accused Mikheil Saakashvili is attending the process remotely from Vivamed clinic, accused Teimuraz Janashia is also present in the hall together with the former President.

At today's trial, the evidence of the defense side will be examined.

For information, the mentioned case, which the society called Known as the jackets case, together with Mikheil Saakashvili, Teimuraz Janashia, the former head of the State Protection Special Service, is accused. The prosecutor's office accuses the defendants of embezzling a large amount of budget money - 9 million GEL.
