Ilia Darchiashvili met with the Vice President of the Upper Chamber of the Malaysian Parliament

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili met with the Vice President of the Upper House (Senate) of the Malaysian Parliament, Datuk Nur Jazlan Bin Tar Sri Mohamed and the accompanying delegation.

As stated in the information released by the agency, the parties discussed current issues of relations between the two countries and discussed the future priority directions of cooperation.

"Special attention was paid to the prospects of deepening cooperation in the fields of economy, trade, tourism, education and people-to-people contacts.

At the meeting, Ilia Darchiashvili provided information to the Malaysian side about Georgia's economic potential, investment environment, as well as opportunities in the field of transport and logistics. The head of the Malaysian delegation confirmed his country's interest in the development of result-oriented cooperation with Georgia in various fields.

The importance of continuing the political dialogue between the countries and the possibilities of further liberalization of the visa regime for Georgian citizens with Malaysia were emphasized.

Ilia Darchiashvili thanked the Malaysian side for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within the internationally recognized borders", the information said.
