Roman Gotsiridze: "Georgian Dream" wants to change the profile of non-governmental organizations and turn them into governmental organizations - they are destroying one of the most important segments

"Georgian Dream" wants to change the profile of non-governmental organizations and turn them into governmental organizations - this statement is anti-state, they are destroying one of the most important segments in Georgia, "EuroOptimists" MP Roman Gotsiridze said about this.

According to him, "Georgian Dream" wants to bribe the free non-governmental sector, so that the voice of criticism from their side is not heard.

"Today, "Georgian Dream" wants to change the profile of non-governmental organizations and turn them into governmental organizations. From the budget, they intend to finance those organizations that are registered in the register. In fact, they want to bribe the free non-governmental sector so that the voice of criticism will not be heard from their side. The non-governmental sector is called non-governmental because it is free from the influence of the government and through it the government is controlled. They fight against the non-governmental sector because they want to prolong their stay in power and rob the budget and have no one to control them," said Gotsiridze.

For information, the Government of Georgia is creating a grant fund for Georgian non-governmental organizations. Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze spoke about the relevant decision at the press conference held in the government administration.

According to him, the fund will be financed from the state budget, and the financing will be received by those organizations that have registered in the Ministry of Justice's register in accordance with the Law on "Transparency of Foreign Influence".
