"Georgian Dream" will not be able to suppress the voice of the Georgian people at the ballot box with false constructions of war and peace based on Russian propaganda narratives, Tina Bokuchava, the chairperson of "Unity National Movement", said in her speech at the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly.
Tina Bokuchava called on the international community to support the OSCE monitoring mission in Georgia during the October 26 elections.
"The principles of peace and security that underpin the OSCE are being challenged daily by Putin as he bombs children's hospitals and churches in Ukraine.
Shameful attempts of other such authoritarians to maintain power by instilling fear of war, such as Bidzina Ivanishvili, the ruler of Georgia, should not be overlooked.
Ahead of crucial parliamentary elections, Ivanishvili's Kremlin-inspired propaganda is based on myths of Russia's invincibility and cynicism that peace-loving Western nations are trying to foment conflict.
The government of wealthy Russian billionaire Ivanishvili, led by the Georgian Dream party, relies on desperate fear tactics to maintain power ahead of the most important elections - he has Georgia's most pro-Western politician, former president Mikheil Saakashvili, in prison on politically motivated charges, oppresses civil society and violently suppresses peaceful protests.
Nevertheless, the Georgian people chose the European future, European prosperity and security.
"Georgian Dream" will not be able to suppress the voice of the Georgian people at the ballot box with false constructions of war and peace based on Russian propaganda narratives.
I invite you all to join the OSCE observation mission in Georgia during these historic elections in order to preserve Georgia's Euro-Atlantic path. I thank you for supporting the peaceful and successful future of my country", said Tina Bokuchava.
According to the press service of the party, the chairman of "Unity National Movement" Tina Bokuchava is attending the autumn session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Dublin, Ireland. The Parliamentary Assembly brings together hundreds of parliamentarians from Europe and North America to focus on security and cooperation.
