The elections held in Georgia received very harsh assessments from our Western partners, this is very bad, because it will determine what the attitude of the free world will be towards our country, as long as Bidzina Ivanishvili's regime is in power, Giga Bokeria, the leader of the "Federalists" party said.
According to Bokeria, the citizens of Georgia will pay the price for all this, regardless of their different political views.
"The elections held in Georgia received very harsh assessments from our Western partners, such harsh assessments were not even in the second round of the 2018 elections. This is very bad for the country because it will determine how the free world will behave towards our country while Bidzina Ivanishvili's regime is in power. Unfortunately, the citizens of Georgia will pay the price for this situation, regardless of our political views. The fact that the share prices of our companies have fallen is one sign of all this.
This is a very sad story that happened. I want to emphasize that I find it completely counterproductive to talk about some conspiracy theories beforehand about the crimes of electronic voting. It will fuel the government's counter-propaganda when it turns out it wasn't.
What they did in 2020, they did now, but on a larger scale. Even then, there was no electronic voting," Giga Bokeria said.
According to Bokeria, the war blackmail campaign on the part of "Georgian Dream" produced an effect, although this does not mean that the elections were held in a fair and free environment.
"The observers saw the situation on the ground and according to what the OSCE/ODIHR wrote the report, they saw the situation outside the area. In fact, all votes were checked to see who voted for whom. They saw that money was distributed there in several cases. All this took place against the backdrop of a brutal, treacherous, but unfortunately partially successful campaign of blackmail and fear of war. Unfortunately, this shameless blackmail has worked, but that does not make these elections free and fair. In my opinion, it was a mistake on the part of the opposition and the media to keep silent and ignore this Utifer election campaign. They had to explain well that leaving Russia alone increases the risk of war, and no matter how painful it was, we had to remember the episodes from the recent history of our country when we were left alone and what they did to us," said Bokeria.
