Yesterday, the EU Commission decided not to continue the negotiations with Georgia regarding the enlargement. Along with other Eastern European countries, Georgia was on the list of countries with which the expansion process was ongoing. However, this process and negotiations were stopped yesterday, due to gross violations, complete terror, intimidation and falsification of the elections, - said Ana Dolidze, one of the leaders of the "Strong Georgia" coalition.
According to her, the strategic partners of Georgia have been told many times that the chances of getting closer to the European Union and joining the European Union under the conditions of the "Georgian Dream" are zero.
"This is in the conditions when other Eastern European countries moved to the next stage, they not only opened the negotiations, but also moved to a new stage of aid from the European Union, such as, for example, Albania, which received several billions of aid.
Unfortunately, it was proven that Georgia remained outside of these countries and that its European development perspective was stopped at this stage. Because all the chances that the Georgian government had were lost. Before that, it was stated in the recommendations that the electoral legislation and the environment should be corrected, but nothing happened, the elections were held with gross violations, therefore, our negotiations have been suspended.
In what language should they tell "Georgian Dream" and the Georgian people that the chances of getting closer to the European Union and joining the European Union under this government are zero?!
Our task is to bring to an end the international non-recognition of the ugly elections that we saw, according to which, the will of the majority of the population of Georgia was simply ignored and carried away by the government, with the help and support of the Russian special services.
As a result of the actions of "Georgian Dream", our children were punished, because the Russians decided to finally formalize this country. We are going to fight for a democratic and European Georgia, we are not a bogeyman that you call and write numbers on during the elections.
We are glad that the main supporter and leader of this struggle is Salome Zurabishvili, and the international community confirms the sovereign will and choice of the Georgian people, that we are a nation of pro-European aspirations", said Ana Dolidze.
