Giorgi Vashadze: We heard an absurd argument from Gakharia's side, it turns out that the parliament should recognize it as illegitimate, but it should not cancel the lists

According to Giorgi Vashadze, one of the leaders of the "Unity National Movement", the party "Gakharia for Georgia" has an absurd argument regarding the non-opening of the lists.

As Vashadze stated at the briefing held at the party office, the only thing that a political group can do to recognize the illegitimacy of the government is to close the lists and refuse mandates - all other arguments are lies.

"The three political powers canceled the lists, then, of course, I am sure that everyone will write a statement regarding the cancellation of the mandates. Today we heard an absurd argument from Gakharia and his party that it turns out that this parliament should be recognized as illegitimate, but the lists should not be canceled. The only thing that any political group can do today to recognize the illegitimacy [of Parliament] is to cancel the lists and refuse the mandates. All other arguments are lies. There are already so many reminders from press conferences and blaming the "National Movement", etc.

I say frankly, in order for the policy of non-recognition to be maintained internationally, it is important for all opposition groups to cancel their lists and their mandates. That's why all political groups are severing legal ties with the self-proclaimed group, in the form of "Georgian Dream", Vashadze said.

For information, the leader of "Gakharia for Georgia", Giorgi Gakharia, said that "they will leave their mandates when and in such a way as they consider necessary".
