It turns out that the Christmas tree lighting ceremony scheduled for tonight has been postponed. I think they are coming to me on St. Barbara's Day. I want to wish you a peaceful evening. There should be no provocation here, - this is what the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, told the citizens gathered at the protest on Rustaveli Avenue.
Salome Zurabishvili spoke about the decision of the Tbilisi City Hall, which led to the postponement of the Christmas tree lighting ceremony planned for today.
"The Christmas tree lighting will not take place tonight. You all stay together peacefully, stay together, and I am with you because we will not allow any provocation here. I am with you, you are in my heart," Zurabishvili addressed the citizens on Rustaveli.
In response, cheers of "Thank you," and "Long live the President of Georgia!" were heard.
