Teimuraz Janashia, the former head of the special state protection service, who was accused along with Mikheil Saakashvili of embezzling a large amount of budget funds as a group, refused to testify.As his lawyer Beka Basilaia stated, the reason for this is distrust towards the court and politicization of the case.

According to Basilaia, Janashia will state his position in the final speech.

As for Mikheil Saakashvili, who was also supposed to testify, his lawyer Shota Tutberidze said that the position was not agreed with Saakashvili. Against the background of the fact that yesterday, the former president's relative imprisonment in the case of illegal crossing of the state border was left in force, the court questions it.

After Saakashvili finishes his address to the public, the session will be postponed to the stage of the final words of the parties.

For information, the mentioned case, which the society called Known as the jackets case, together with Mikheil Saakashvili, Teimuraz Janashi, the former head of the State Protection Special Service, is accused. The prosecutor's office accuses the defendants of embezzling a large amount of budget money - 9 million GEL.
