"What I saw in the footage was that Mr. Giorgi Gakharia initiated the physical violence against Dimitri Samkharadze, and Mr. Dimitri’s reaction was not unexpected," stated Levan Machavariani, a deputy from the "Georgian Dream" party, during an interview with journalists.

According to Machavariani, "everything is clear in the footage."

"Any such incident is very unfortunate—we always condemn violence. It doesn’t matter from which side it happens or who ends up being harmed in the end.

The psychological violence and bullying directed at politicians are also forms of violence in our view. It’s very unfortunate that the diplomatic corps does not respond to this and, on the contrary, seems to encourage it. There have been statements like 'spit in their food,' and earlier, 'three bullets to the head,' yet no one reacts. All of this indirectly encourages such behavior," Machavariani remarked.
