Ana Natsvlishvili: The Abu Dhabi summit is not a real alternative to the Munich Conference. A 'restart' is necessary, which will be created by new elections

The Abu Dhabi summit is not a real alternative to the Munich Conference; it is just setting a fog. No one trusts the people sanctioned by the US and EU countries as partners. Neither Kuwait nor any other investor will invest money or enter into a business deal with those who change their words three times a day, said one of the leaders of "Strong Georgia," Ana Natsvlishvili, during her appearance on "PalitraNews" program "Daily Newsroom."

She added that Irakli Kobakhidze is trying to make it seem like he is creating some alternative.

In Natsvlishvili's opinion, the fact that "Georgian Dream" was not invited to the Munich Security Conference indicates that no one recognizes them as a legitimate government.

"The fact that 'Georgian Dream' is not invited to the Munich Conference indicates that no one sees them as a legitimate government. This is another proof that Georgia is a country under the control of 'Georgian Dream,' whose security, peace, well-being, and stability are not just under threat but will be shattered. Therefore, the very fact that no one from 'Georgian Dream' was invited shows how dangerous the situation is when 'Georgian Dream' holds power. I am sure that Salome Zurabishvili will voice the people's message. Today, the protest is based on the people's sincere and legitimate anger and the realization that the country is not being governed, and no one will be safe in the chaos."

Russia sees that the absolute majority of the country's population finds it unacceptable for Georgia to detach from Europe and return to the Russian swamp, which is why so many people are in the streets, and the protests will continue. What Russia has left is the hope that Georgia might become less important and relevant to Western democratic actors. True, "Georgian Dream" has been abandoned, and they are not invited to Munich, but they invite the fifth president. This means that no matter how much "Georgian Dream" messes things up and tries to push Georgia out of the international agenda, which is part of Russia's plan, it will not happen.

The Abu Dhabi summit is not a real alternative; it is just setting a fog. When you kick up dust, it temporarily clouds the clarity, and this is the fog Kobakhidze is trying to create. In reality, the fact is that neither the West nor any other countries trust the people sanctioned by the US and EU. Neither Kuwait nor any other country or their real investors will invest money or enter into business deals with people who change their words three times a day. The fact that these people are unreliable, constantly changing their statements, and betraying their own words is clear and understandable to everyone. Now Kobakhidze is trying to make it seem like he's creating some alternative," Ana Natsvlishvili said.

Regarding other issues, the politician also spoke about those detained during protests, including statements made by Saba Skhvitari on the court yesterday.

"If we assess Saba Skhvitari's case legally, it is unequivocally torture. Humanely and politically, it shows the absolute, complete decay of the centers of power. This country does not have a government today. This process is left in the hands of rebellious, violent groups. Saba Skhvitari's case is one of many where citizens talk about how they were tortured, threatened with rape, etc. These are very serious cases. I worked on documenting them so that all international and non-legal platforms had detailed information on such cases. Saba's case shows that those who acted against Saba and dozens of other protesters feel that they are completely untouchable and unpunishable. A person in uniform, who holds power, only develops such a feeling when they know that there is no functioning state institution anymore. A country where there is an investigation, investigative bodies, a functioning prosecutor's office; where there is an independent investigative mechanism created additionally; where there is a court of mid-level at least; where there is a parliament with supervisory functions; where there is an active ombudsman, such things do not happen. So, this case is not just a problem; it is the tip of the iceberg. The problem is so massive, so deep, and the decay of every layer of power is so profound. A 'restart' is needed, and that will come with new elections."

Regarding Lasha Gabitashvili's case, full solidarity with Lasha Gabitashvili, who became the target of a crime. No matter how much Zarqua tries to convince us that he has nothing to do with it, the responsibility is clearly and directly on him, personally and in the investigation, from which we expect nothing," Ana Natsvlishvili concluded.
