Irakli Bebua, illegally detained by the occupation regime, is free and is in the territory controlled by the central government. The State Security Service of Georgia (SSSG) has released information about the above.
According to the agency, Irakli Bebua was illegally sentenced to 9 years of imprisonment in occupied Abkhazia, although the actual duration of his illegal imprisonment was 4 years and 6 months.
“During the mentioned period, the “hotline” mechanism operated by the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia (EUMM) and all other levers and instruments of negotiations and communication available to the central government were actively used in connection with the release of Irakli Bebua from illegal imprisonment, monitoring his health condition and other relevant issues.
The central government of Georgia continues to work actively to release all citizens of Georgia illegally detained in the occupied territories,” the statement reads.
