According to "Lelo – Strong Georgia," party member Tamar Romelashvili is in Moscow to attend a family member’s funeral. Therefore, the claim that Tamar Romelashvili was allegedly sent to Moscow by party chairman Mamuka Khazaradze is slanderous and immoral.
“For two days now, propaganda media outlet ‘Rustavi 2’ has been spreading disinformation and slander against ‘Lelo – Strong Georgia,’ falsely claiming that Mamuka Khazaradze sent a party representative to Moscow on April 9, who is allegedly holding confidential meetings there.
We declare that this information is false and aims to discredit ‘Lelo – Strong Georgia’ and its leader, as well as to mislead the public — something we will not allow!
‘Lelo – Strong Georgia,’ since its founding, has stood on and served the foundation of Georgia’s national interests and is one of the strongest defenders and promoters of the country’s European values.
This is the party that, for five years, has been openly exposing the Russian regime of ‘Georgian Dream’ and the illegitimate government’s ties with the occupying state — something well-known to the public. Therefore, the attempt by propaganda media to smear the most solid and growing opposition political force using KGB-style methods is doomed to fail and will not be believed by anyone.
As for the party member, Tamar Romelashvili, she is in Moscow to attend a family member’s funeral. It appears her border crossing drew the attention of the security services, who likely passed this so-called ‘scandalous’ information directly to the propaganda media, which then broadcast yet another immoral and slanderous report aimed at discrediting coalition leader Mamuka Khazaradze.
‘Lelo – Strong Georgia’ will appeal to the Charter of Journalistic Ethics in response to this disinformation,” — the statement reads.
