“Today, many complex processes are taking place in the world; time seems to have sped up; events and views are changing rapidly; confrontation, instability, ecological problems, constant stress, wars ... have become our common reality. The desire of those who want peace is great, but achieving results is not easy... May God bless the peacemakers, may God bless the world with peace! - reads the Easter Epistle of the Catholicos Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude Ilia II.
As the Patriarch notes, the current situation should make everyone think more about the essence of life and eternal values.
“We are created for eternal blessings; here, in this worldly existence, we must live in the connection of the temporary and the impermanent, of earth and heaven, but we must always strive for proximity to eternity, which is achieved primarily through the Church.
Only the Church reveals to us the true purpose of life, looks into our souls and offers us the most true and correct opportunity to distinguish between good and evil. It does not ask the impossible of us; on the contrary, it gives us the strength to overcome them. It holds us in her heart, but does not approve of evil deeds. At the same time, it strengthens our spiritual and inner strength and does not make us lose hope even in the most difficult circumstances.
Among the church holidays, Easter has the most distinguished place.
When we celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord, at the same time we celebrate our future residence in heaven with an incorruptible body. Jesus Christ gave us an example of how to live rightly in this world, and also showed us its result.
It is precisely the faith in returning to eternal bliss that gives meaning to the rule of our existence that the Lord taught us and implies: service to others, humility, patience, compassion, support, morality, peacemaking, purity of heart, fortitude of spirit, selflessness, dedication...
After the crucifixion, those who rose from the graves became the first preachers of the Resurrection of Christ. And how could those who saw with their own eyes the opened tombs and heard the preaching of those who came out of the graves not believe in the miracle of the Resurrection?!
This unshakable faith and the teachings of the Lord were spread throughout the whole world by the apostles and the Church, who were internally spiritually enlightened and strengthened”, reads the Patriarch’s Easter Epistle
