Our cooperation with the International Monetary Fund has never stopped, despite the fact that the program has been suspended. We have a number of joint technical assistance programs, where the IMF helps us develop areas of relevance to the bank, - said Natia Turnava, President of the National Bank.
The President of the National Bank focused on the country's macroeconomic indicators and noted that in the latest IMF report, Georgia is assessed as a very fast-growing economy, and this assessment is based on the data obtained during the last IMF mission.
"The goal of the IMF mission's visit is to have reliable information on our macroeconomic indicators. This is the basis on which they publish assessments. We believe, and in principle the IMF recognizes this and agrees with us, that Georgia has always been and can continue to be a successful example of reforms and economic development for them in the future," - noted Natia Turnava.
As the President of the National Bank stated, the format and priority areas of further cooperation with the International Monetary Fund mission will be outlined within the framework of their planned visit to Georgia in the near future.
The National Bank disseminated the above information.
